In this project, we are given to design a Visitor Interpretive Centre (VIC) in Bukit Cina, Melaka. The interpretive centre will provide a physical point of reference with visual significance that keeps alive the culture/history/memory/essence of the site and provide accommodation to house and display relevant material and interpretive material for public access and information. Solutions relying heavily on landscape are encouraged. Visitors should be inspired and informed in ways that express the spirit of the place (genius loci). We have to submit 4 A1 sheets conveying ideas underlying the design, its overall form & space, its spatial qualities, site analysis and drawings and a sectional physical model with contour. In this project, I have learned how to generate design based on the unique character and conditions of the site context.
